About the Foundation

The Ricky Ryp Foundation was founded in 2012 for the purpose of continuing Rick Rypien’s legacy through charitable works. During his years in Junior and Pro hockey Rick was involved with many charities in the towns and cities he played in. The purpose of this Foundation is to continue with these actions by providing support to individuals and/or groups characterized into two categories. The “Local Talent” category will provide funding and/or equipment to help those further themselves in academics, athletics or the arts. The intentions of the “Those in Need” category is to provide funding and assistance to individuals and/or families who suffer hardship through either illness, injury or other personal struggles.  In 2012, three events were hosted by the Foundation: 
 
1) A golf tournament and charity auction took place in August which drew over 200 golfers in a two day event.  Read More Here!

Lethbridge Hurricanes Ricky Ryp Night

Tonight, January 31 at  7:00 PM,  Lethbridge Hurricanes vs the Regina Pats is Ricky Ryp Night. Rick who played minor hockey in Lethbridge and later went on to become the captain of the Regina Pats will be honoured during tonight's game.  Donations will  be collected with proceeds going to the Ricky Ryp Foundation Foundation.
